How should you prepare for your trip?

1. Book your tickets

Enter your itinerary on airfrance.com or in the app, and you will be automatically redirected to the Air France Smart Connect platform to book both your flight and your train. Our partner Dohop will be your point of reference for any changes to your booking. 

2. Check in

Check in for your flight as early as 30 hours before departure and download your Air France boarding pass in our app or on our website. For your train journey, find your ticket in the SBB confirmation email.

3. Get ready for your departure

Bring your valid travel documents. Label your baggage with your contact details and check that you comply with the most restrictive baggage rule between the train and plane.

Your trip with Air France Smart Connect

Your train to plane journey

  • At the station in Switzerland: Access your train with your e-ticket to Geneva Airport or Zurich Airport.
  • Your connection: Walk to your departure terminal and check in your baggage.
  • Your arrival at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport: Collect your baggage from the baggage carousel.

Your plane to train journey

  • At Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport: Drop off your baggage at the check-in counter for your flight to Geneva or Zurich. Upon arrival, follow the signs for "exit/baggage" and collect your baggage from the baggage carousel.
  • Your connection: Walk to the station. Access your train with your SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) e-ticket, which you received along with your booking confirmation.
  • Your arrival at the station in Switzerland: Check that you did not leave any baggage items or personal belongings on the train.

 

Transporting your baggage

Your plane and train ticket may have different baggage allowances. Make sure to follow the most restrictive rule. All your baggage must have a tag with your contact details.

No, unaccompanied minors are not allowed on the trains.

Only dogs and cats are allowed to travel under certain conditions. The rules for acceptance vary between planes and trains. We recommend applying the stricter of the two rules for the entire journey.
